Design task_
The task of the exercise is to design and construct beach houses on the rough northern beach of the North Sea island of Helgoland. These can be used for a few months by surfers and water sports enthusiasts to live and work directly on the North Sea. A key target group is the creative scene.
The site is located between the North Sea and a small access path (parallel to the water). The plot has a slope of approx. 1.65m, which is to be integrated into the design. The development can be built in a tower or a timber-framed version. To fit in with the regional building style, the building must have exposed brickwork in the main parts.
The available building area has a maximum size of 7.0 x 7.0 m in the tower variant or 7.0 x 14.0 m in the transom variant (see site plan). The beach house should be arranged on different levels (level offset of at least 1/2 storey and visual references between the interior areas and the North Sea). Furthermore, an outdoor area (balcony, loggia, roof terrace) should be planned.
